Ian is the Managing Director of I+S Associates Limited and is the 6th generation of a family involved in professional horticulture spending the first 25 years of his career in senior management of one of the largest salad crop production businesses in the UK and then in the technology sector of horticulture controls & automation.  

Ian led the design and construction of GrowUp, the first commercial scale vertical farm in London and was also responsible for the design and build of first vertical farm in the world commercially producing food for the animals at Paignton Zoo in Devon.
